About Us The Face Behind Nasyon Soley Productions Nasyon Soley Productions (NSP) was created in 2006 by Jenny Elie. Jenny was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Along with her parents, Jenny came to the United States at the tender age of 2 and lived in New Jersey where she attended St. Aedan grammar school. She then returned to Haiti at the age of 10 and attended Charité de St. Louis. In 1994, due to political instability, she returned to the United States to finish high school and went on to earn a degree in Economics from Bridgewater State College. Despite being partly raised and educated in the United States, Jenny Elie always felt the need to stay in touch with her culture: a culture rich in sound, soul, color, sun, vivacity and diversity. With this in mind, she established Nasyon Soley Productions (NSP), “yon nasyon ki pa janm sispann klere”. To Jenny, NSP is an attempt to embrace not just various sounds of Haiti, but also to bring out all facets of its cultural lifestyles. Jenny encourages others who share the same sentiment, to support the Haitian culture. Jenny promotes positive, successful and aspiring Haitian artists living in the Diaspora. She brings a strong sense of commitment and passion to fostering the Haitian culture. Strongly dedicated to social justice and social causes, Jenny also works closely with a number of community-based projects in Boston, Brockton and Lynn, Massachusetts. At Nasyon Soley Productions our mission is twofold: we aim to promote cultural awareness within the Haitian Community of Boston in the form of performing arts, visual arts and events which involve literary arts. Nasyon Soley Productions prides itself in showcasing the talents of well-known Haitian artists and entertainers from all over the world who are blessed with cultural and artistic sense. We also want to showcase the talents of local and emerging artists that share our vision of promoting Haitian culture. An additional promoting focus of ours is the Haitian Jazz movement. NSP fully supports this movement as another vehicle of promoting the Haitian culture. Haitian culture is truly a rich culture and our mission is to accentuate its many facets through our events. We believe that memories of our homeland and our identity should be constant forces in our lives. NSP’s objective is to reach those who were born outside of Haiti, either arrived in the U.S. at an early age or those who have lost touch with the culture. In order to reach this goal we must understand where our journey began. By providing cultural events every so often we will be able to achieve this goal. We’re bringing “culture” back to the Haitian Community of Boston! Nasyon Soley Productions can also plan your next special function!
